Great to be back at Braymer High School as the HS Science Teacher. This is year 18 for me in education, I spent the first 13 years in Agricultural Education and made the switch to Science a few years ago. I consider myself a lifelong learner and I really enjoy biology-related applications. Teaching provides the avenue to share my excitement for learning, this year I hope to shift more toward an inquiry-based approach with more hands-on experiences to courses utilizing interactive notebooks. Science notebooks are amazing tools! Research shows that notebooks allow students to exhibit what they have learned by using color-pictures-text in a meaningful way. I believe this route will enhance student engagement and boost interest in science topics we cover while allowing students to experience ideas firsthand.  Here are some Notebook Examples for you to envision what our interactive notebooks will look like.

    Late Work Policy - 2022 - 2023

    All late work turned in will be graded at a 90% max up to the end of the mid-term. 

    No late work will be accepted after the mid-term.

  • HS Science Supplies

    Required: 

    • Writing Utensil (pens and/or pencils)
    • 1 Subject, college ruled notebook with a plastic cover (extended life of notebook as they'll be used daily in class)
      • Examples:
        • Mead 1-subject, college ruled are good. 
        • Mead Interactive are also excellent!

     

    Highly Recommended: 

    • Scientific Calculator (especially physical science & chemistry)
    • Colored pencils/thin tipped water color markers for interactive notebooks

  • Due to the size of our freshmen class, half of the physical science students completed a science fair project this fall. They have recorded videos of their presentations and they are posted here.
